Members of Donald Trump’s inner circle fled in horror after shots rang out at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington D.C.
Guests dived under tables following orders from Secret Service agents, as Trump, first lady Melania Trump, Vice President JD Vance, mentalist Oz Pearlman, and WHCA chief Weijia Jiang were quickly hustled out of the ballroom.
Trump appeared to stumble or was pushed down and surrounded by Secret Service agents as he was taken out of the room. Vance fled in the opposite direction.

“Down, get down,” someone could be heard shouting after a Secret Service agent yelled, “Shots fired!”
Helmeted officers with automatic weapons drawn surged the event’s head table as Trump and his closest White House allies were hurried out of the ballroom.
The lobby of the Washington Hilton hotel was in chaos as guests fled and Secret Service agents with guns drawn hunted for the shooter. Shots were reportedly fired in the lobby, where protesters had entered.
There were no immediate reports of injuries. The shooter was apprehended, according to the president. Trump was uninjured.
“Let the show go on!” he soon posted on Truth Social. “Quite an evening in D.C. Secret Service and Law Enforcement did a fantastic job. They acted quickly and bravely,” Trump wrote.
The event was initially postponed, but was later canceled, and will be rescheduled within 30 days, Trump wrote.
This is a breaking story that will be updated.
