Police collect evidence near the body of Farzana Iqbal, who was killed by family members, at the site near the Lahore High Court building. Iqbal, 25, was stoned to death by her family outside one of Pakistan’s top courts on Tuesday in a so-called honor killing for marrying the man she loved, police said. Iqbal was waiting for the High Court to open when a group of about dozen men began attacking her with bricks, said Umer Cheema, a senior police officer.

Thai protesters fight with police and military trying to arrest them during an anti-coup protest on the second day of Thailand’s military coup. Thailand has seen many months of political unrest and violence, which has claimed at least 28 lives. The country is now experiencing its 12th coup, with seven attempted previous coups.

There have been daily protests in Bangkok against the coup, and on Wednesday about 200 people confronted troops and police. Protesters jeered, threw plastic water bottles, and spray-painted “Get Out” and “No Coup” over an army Humvee.

Anti-government protesters who had been in prison since being arrested after a protest in January wave from a van at their relatives as they leave Phnom Penh Municipality Court. The court has convicted almost two dozen factory workers and rights activists of instigating violence during protests that rocked the government earlier this year. But in a surprise move, the court on Friday gave the 23 defendants suspended sentences of one to 4 1/2 years in prison and granted them freedom.

In a highly anticipated speech on foreign policy, Obama provided details of his plans for winding down America’s military commitment in Afghanistan and on future military threats to the United States. More than 1,000 cadets were expected to graduate from the class of 2014 and will be commissioned as second lieutenants in the U.S. Army.
