Palm trees were spray-painted white as a part of Projection, a public-art project by French installation artist Vincent Lamouroux, to draw attention to a forgotten Los Angeles landmark, Bates Motel, along Sunset Boulevard. The motel, so nicknamed for its resemblance to the motel in the Alfred Hitchcock classic Psycho, has been in a state of disrepair for many years.
