On a day the mercury hit an unseasonably warm 68 degrees, the official White House Twitter account sent out a tweet celebrating the first snowfall of the year. Several people responded to the “First snow of the year!” tweet, accompanied by a photo of snow falling on the White House, with a screenshot of the current weather conditions in Washington, D.C.: clear with temperatures at a balmy 53 degrees. Another Twitter user, meanwhile, pointed out that the first snow fell on D.C. a few days ago.
