This spring, people all over the country cast votes for charities through Members Project® from American Express and TakePart. It’s a philanthropic online platform that’s open to anyone, and its goal is to provide everyone with the tools, information and inspiration to find ways to give back on their own terms.

Cast a weekly vote for the charities that you think deserve funding from American Express. There are up to 50 charities in the areas of Arts & Culture, Community Development, Education, Environment & Wildlife and Health & Wellness listed each quarter. Every three months, the winner of each category receives $200,000. The people who voted this spring helped to decide who will receive the funding by voting every week—just one small mouse click can make a huge difference for these charities and the communities they serve.

Winners for the first round of voting have been announced and the second round of voting is now open. Go to facebook.com/membersproject to see the winners, track the leaders in the newest round of voting and in the meantime, keep supporting the charities you care about.

Vote. Another round of voting has opened! That means you have time to choose charities that appeal to you and embark on new relationships with charities that you love. Vote weekly for your favorites until August 22, and if you want to nominate a charity for future rounds that isn’t already in the running, you can do that too.

Volunteer. Members Project can help you find charities that interest you through VolunteerMatch—there are thousands of opportunities to search. No matter how much—or how little—time you have to give, you’ll find a cause that fits with your heart and your schedule. Anyone can access the information, and if you’re a Cardmember who volunteers (or if you track your hours on your TakePart profile and then apply for an American Express® Card at a later date), you can get Membership Rewards® bonus points for your work.

Donate. Have an American Express® Card? Use your Card to donate or give your Membership Rewards® points to one of up to 50 organizations included in Members Project® voting rounds, or choose from among thousands of charities.

Spread the word. Broadcast your involvement with Members Project through Facebook, Twitter or blogs—you can even create an online banner for your favorite causes and post it to your page to get your friends involved. Another option? Share your experiences the old-fashioned way by talking about them. Every conversation helps. Now that voting is open again, you can help generate interest in the project by sharing videos that will get everyone into the project.
