It was more like America's reasons why not to tune in: only 6.2 million viewers watched the first and only episode of the Heather Graham-led comedy. The episode also drew harsh criticism from pro-abstinence groups after they took offense to the pilot's premise, in which Graham's Emily was convinced the man she was dating was gay, only to learn that he was in fact a devout Mormon who didn't believe in premarital sex. No surprise that ABC yanked the show immediately, despite the network having spent millions on a widespread promotional campaign.

Another CBS reality catastrophe, The Will featured a multi-millionaire who assembled 10 of his friends and relatives to compete for the right to inherit his estate, the majority of which was tied up in a Kansas ranch. While Bachelor executive producer Mike Fleiss may have found success with rose ceremonies and hot tub hookups, his The Will was a complete misfire, a macabre format whose ultimate outcome depended on the death of the wealthy benefactor. Clearly, the country thought so as well as only 4.2 million viewers tuned in to the series premiere, leading CBS to quickly cancel this low-rated mess.
