Police in London have arrested 12 people in connection with Saturday night’s attack in London Bridge and Borough Market, with raids underway Sunday at “a number of addresses,” according to Metropolitan Police. The three attackers were killed during the attack, which left seven dead and 48 wounded. But as the investigation kicked into high gear on Sunday, police made several arrests in Barking, an area of east London. No further details were provided on the individuals taken into custody. Sky News reported earlier that one of the homes raided belonged to one of the attackers, and an eyewitness described a heavy police presence in the area, with a residential building cordoned off. Several blasts were also heard as police reportedly conducted controlled explosions as part of the raid. Police have asked the public to avoid the London Bridge and Borough Market areas as investigators continue their work.
