Authorities in the small town of Cleveland, Texas have arrested 18 young men and teenage boys on charges of participating in the gang rape of an 11-year-old girl in a trailer—a crime that first came to light when one of the victim’s classmates showed a cell-phone video of the assault to her teacher. Five suspects attend Cleveland High School, including two members of the basketball team; another is the son of a school-board member. They range in age from middle-schoolers to 27 years old. The crime is alleged to have taken place in a trailer. About 9,000 people live in Cleveland.
