Texas authorities rescued 18 young men from a houseboat that broke loose on Lake Travis early Friday while a bachelor party raged inside. The men, visiting from Louisiana, were not injured, but flash flooding caused a rash of emergency calls in the area. Wind gusts reached as high as 40 miles per hour, while further storms meant monthly rainfall totals surpassed the 13.67-inch mark, making this the wettest May in Texas history. Rainfall ranged from 1 to 4 inches in six hours across Dallas.
