For the last few years, the recession and increased marketing costs have forced movie buyers to exercise heavy caution at the Sundance Film Festival, resulting in few film acquisitions. But thanks to the critical and commercial successes of films like Winter’s Bone and The Kids Are All Right, both of which premiered at last year’s Sundance, buyers have flocked to the slopes of Park City, Utah, with a renewed sense of vigor, resulting in a flurry of movie purchases.
