At least 39 people were killed when a fight broke out between security forces and armed civilians in western Mexico on Friday. The gunfight happened in the state of Michoacan, which is home to powerful drug gangs. It's unknown who was involved in the fight, but the region next doorhas been plagued with violence from the Jalisco New Generation cartel. At least two police were killed in the clash.
