A 2-year-old in Kentucky was killed Tuesday after her 5-year-old brother accidentally shot her. Caroline Starks’s brother was reportedly playing with a .22-caliber My First Rifle, a gun sold by the company Keystone Sporting Arms. The gun, which was given to the boy as a gift last year, is packaged by the company as a weapon meant to “instill safety in the minds of youth shooters.” The kids’ mother, who was outside on the porch at the time of the shooting, allegedly did not realize there was still a shell in the gun. “It’s just one of those crazy accidents,” the county coroner said.
