Following a failed coup in Turkey, 6,000 military officers, soldiers and others have been arrested. Authorities said on Sunday that the crackdown targeted President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s opponents. The commander of the Incirlik Air Base, Gen. Bekir Ercan Van, was detained with the others on Sunday, the Washington Post reported. Officials said on Saturday that the U.S. had cut power to the base. “U.S. facilities at Incirlik are still operating on internal power sources, but we hope to restore commercial power soon. Base operations have not been affected,” the Pentagon’s press secretary said in a statement
