Killing in Israel didn't slow after Sunday became known as the bloodiest day of the two-week Gaza offensive. Seven members of the Israeli Defense Forces were killed on Monday, bringing the IDF death toll to 25. At least 120 Palestinians have died since the ground operation began on Friday, bringing the total to 508 dead. Also on Monday, two cells of Hamas militants managed to infiltrate Israel via underground tunnels. Now some 100,000 refugees are seeking shelter with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, which has opened up 69 facilities in Gaza. Secretary of State John Kerry and U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon are currently heading to Egypt to continue ceasefire negotiations.
