8 Killed in California Shooting

Eight people were killed Wednesday and one person is in critical condition after a shooting in a hair salon in Seal Beach, Calif. Sgt. Steve Bowles of the Seal Beach Police Department said a male suspect has been taken into custody about a half mile from the crime scene, and authorities reportedly found multiple weapons in his car. Bowles said "we feel confident we have the single and only suspect," and he said the suspect may have been involved with someone at the salon. One witness, identified only as Cindy, said she "just kept hearing boom, boom, boom, boom" and that at first she thought it was a "Halloween prank."
