Comparatively, last year saw three hurricanes. Experts from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is calling it an “active to extremely active” season this year, though that might not be a bad thing. High winds could help disperse the oil slick and could help accelerate the natural biodegradation process, one official said.
