With the U.S. pulling out of Afghanistan, the pressure is on for former interpreters and aides to secure a visa, but those visas may be a long time coming. The New York Times reports that the entire process lasts more than two years, and as many as 5,000 were waiting to begin last fall. Meanwhile, the Taliban is hunting people who helped the United States during the war. At least a few interpreters are said to be killed each month.
