Wait, is this show live? Christina Aguilera botched the national anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday night, missing a line and repeating an incorrect version of an earlier one instead. Aguilera missed the line, “O’er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming” entirely, instead singing, “What so proudly we watched at the twilight’s last gleaming.” She had already sung that line in its correct form, in which “watched” is actually “hailed.” The diva finished her otherwise impressive a cappella performance unscathed, though social networkers on Facebook and Twitter were quick to pick up on—and mock—the error.
