A spokesman for Republican vice-presidential nominee Mike Pence said he will remain on the Trump ticket through the election. Speculation arose that the Indiana governor would drop out after a 2005 video emerged Friday of his running mate’s lewd comments about women, and his subsequent cancellation of a campaign appearance with House Speaker Paul Ryan on Saturday, as well as a Monday fundraiser in New Jersey. A top aide confirmed early Monday to CNN reporter Tom LoBianco that Pence would remain. During Sunday night’s presidential debate, the real-estate mogul dismissed Pence’s proposal on how to deal with Russia and Syria. Trump said: “He and I haven’t spoken, and I disagree.”
During an appearance on CNN Monday morning, Pence said being on the ticket with Trump is “the greatest honor of my life,” and repeated that any report suggesting he was dropping off the ticket is “absolutely false.”
