The American Civil Liberties Union announced on Wednesday that the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority would allow an anti-SeaWorld ad to be placed at Lindbergh Field. Airport officials decided to permit the poster, which features actress Kathy Najimy asking visitors not to visit SeaWorld, only after the threat of a lawsuit from People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). The airport’s advertisement vendor initially refused the animal rights group's request to buy space for $17,500, but caved to the PETA pressure. Shockingly, SeaWorld San Diego is not pleased. It said in response to the decision, "PETA is an extremist organization and this ad demonstrates that, once again, they are more interested in publicity stunts than helping animals. The truth is that our animals at SeaWorld are healthy and happy."
