Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb has taken credit for an attack on hotel in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. On Friday as many as six gunmen entered the Splendid Hotel and took hostages. A doctor at a nearby hospital, where some of the victims of the attack were taken, confirmed that there have been deaths. A witness told Agence France-Presse that “several” people had died during the attack. Agence France-Presse also reports that at least 20 people have died in the attack.
