Amy Bishop, the University of Alabama professor who went on a rampage and killed three of her colleagues in February, was charged Wednesday in the 1986 death of her brother. Seth Bishop, 18, died after being shot by his sister in their Massachusetts home, and the murky circumstances of the blast led the local district attorney's office to rule it an accident. But after the Alabama slayings, authorities re-opened the case. Police also said Bishop had threatened three people—including a police officer—at gunpoint after she allegedly shot her brother, until officers were able to persuade her to release them. She cannot be charged with assault since the statute of limitations has expired, the district attorney's office said.
