Alamo Becomes UNESCO Heritage Site

First one in Texas.

The Alamo and four other missions in San Antonio are becoming UNESCO World Heritage Sites, it was announced on Sunday. This missions are the first World Heritage Sites in Texas, and one of 23 countrywide. Other new sites from around the world added to the list include Singapore’s Botanical Gardens, the Diyarbakir Fortress in Turkey, and France’s champagne region.
