Honest Truth: Lanvin designer, Alber Elbaz gave the whole fashion world the warm and fuzzies after reading his interview with the Wall Street Journal: “I’m not jealous of people—I’m only jealous of people who can eat and not gain weight. I respect talent. When I see talent and when I see a good person with talent, I melt,” he said of his relationship with other designers. [WSJ]

Flaunt It: The 86-year-old Duchess of Alba, a regular on Vanity Fair's best dressed list (and holder of the Guiness World Record title for "most titles") appeared on a beach in Formentera with her 61-year-old husband, while wearing a floral bikini. Behold. [HuffPost Style]

Ouch: Here's one way to kick a guy while he's down: take away his Legion of Honor. That's what has happened to disgraced Dior designer John Galliano, who has been in virtual seclusion since he was found guilty of making anti-Semitic remarks in a Paris bar last year. Galliano, who was once on top of the fashion industry, received a Légion d'Honneur from Nicolas Sarkozy in 2009. But now, there's a new sheriff in town. Newly-elected French President Francois Hollande (an outspoken critic of anti-Semitism) announced last week that Galliano would lose the designation. [Telegraph]

Fashion in Venice: Miu Miu will be making a noted appearance at this week’s Venice Film Festival. The brand will premiere the fourth installation of its Women’s Saga film series, this chapter including performances by Patricia Clarkson, Aubrey Plaza, and Rinko Kikuchi. The house will hold an event that brings the directors of all four films together for a panel discussion on women’s creativity. [WWD]
