Amazon removed nine books authored by notorious misogynist and pickup-artist blogger Daryush “Roosh” Valizadeh, but left many on the website, according to a Monday report from HuffPost. Valizadeh’s books include what some consider to be how-to-guides for rape, the Post notes, and feature phrases like, “If a girl is willing to walk home with me, she’s going to get the dick no matter how much she has drunk.” Amazon is one of the only tech giants to take any steps towards censoring Valizadeh, and the move only came after the Post asked Amazon if Valizadeh’s content violated company guidelines. He is verified on Twitter, and only has one strike against him on Youtube and a three-month ban on live streaming. The Post added that Valizadeh has long anticipated getting kicked off Amazon, and said in 2017 that “If Amazon shuts me down, I can still sell books directly,” noting that there are “couple, maybe, I dunno, hundred thousand or less [people] that do like me are willing to go the extra mile to buy any books that I write.”
