Amish Beard-Cutter Sentenced

All weird things must come to an end. The leader of the Amish sect thrust into the national spotlight for committing vicious beard-cutting crimes was sentenced to 15 years in prison Friday for his role in “coordinating” the assaults. Samuel Mullet Sr., 67, was a major player in the five attacks, spanning several Amish communities, where he and his followers broke into homes, restrained their victims, and violently shaved their beards—sometimes using tools big enough to trim horse manes. All of the followers involved in Mullet's case received lesser sentences, ranging from one year to seven.
