Anna Wintour is taking on the recession the only way she knows how: With style. The Vogue editor is championing Fashion’s Night Out, set to take place on September 10, in which participating stores stay open late and have special promotions (read: free items and/or drinks) to encourage consumers to buy new fall items. More than 300 stores in New York have signed up, as well as many other stores in fashion hotspots around the world—including Paris, Beijing, and Rome. The goal, as, Wintour said, is so that people remember "just how wonderful shopping can be."
