Anthony Vaccarello to Design for Versus Versace: Following in the footsteps of Christopher Kane, JW Anderson, and M.I.A., Belgian designer Anthony Vaccarello is the latest to be selected by Donatella Versace to create a collection for Versus Versace. Vaccarello, who is best known for his tight minidresses and plunging necklines, will design a collection featuring ready-to-wear and accessories, set to launch in 2014. "Anthony's clothes have everything that I love: they are sensual, dynamic, daring," Donatella Versace said of the young designer. "He is a natural, and has the confidence and talent to push fashion where he wants it and where it is relevant for today's women. Ferragamo Wins Over $4 Million in Counterfeiting Case: After filing a case in the beginning of 2013 against 15 different defendants for counterfeit infringement, Salvatore Ferragamo has finally been awarded $4.3 million dollars in damages. Together, the defendants held 95 different domain names that could affect Ferragamo's product sales, such as FerragamoBagSale.com. Ferruccio Ferragamo, chairman of the company said, "Our company is committed to protecting our brand and contributing to the fight against counterfeiting, which for many years has beleaguered the world's most prestigious fashion and luxury brands." He continued, "The internet has now become a leading channel for traffickers of counterfeit goods, and is now the central focus of the recent lawsuits filed by our group, historically one of the most affected by this crime." John Koblin Named New York Times Style Reporter: A replacement for Eric Wilson, who left The New York Times in October for the position of fashion news director at InStyle, has finally been named. John Koblin, currently a sports reporter at Deadspin, will join the newpaper "early next year" as style reporter. Although Koblin's fashion experience may be lacking, he has reported on media for both WWD and The New York Observer in the past. Styles editor Stuart Emmrich wrote in a memo, "Over the past month, I have had several long conversations with John about our fashion coverage — discussing in detail how he might have approached some of our news stories differently, what other angles he might have pursued...and in each case I have come away with the same reaction: total excitement at the prospect of having him on the Styles staff." Gisele Bündchen, Sofia Coppola Star in Marc Jacobs's Last Louis Vuitton Campaign: In his final stint for Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs has outdone himself, yet again. For the brand's Spring/Summer 2014 campaign, Jacobs tapped the likes of some of his favorite, most inspiring ladies, including Sofia Coppola, Catherine Deneuve, Gisele Bündchen, and British Fashion Awards' "Model of the Year" Edie Campbell.
