AP Sues Laura Ingraham’s Website for Unpaid Fees

The Associated Press is suing LifeZette, a website founded by conservative commentator Laura Ingraham, for almost $50,000 over alleged unpaid licensing fees that go back for months. A formal complaint filed on Friday with the D.C. Superior Court alleges that LifeZette failed to pay for its use of the AP’s content. The licensing agreement went into effect in July 2015 and was suspended last February after LifeZette allegedly failed to pay the $4,200-per-month licensing fee that had been agreed to by both organizations. LifeZette sent the AP a check for nearly $43,000, but it was “returned due to insufficient funds,” per BuzzFeed. Ingraham was reportedly a top contender to be the White House press secretary for President Donald Trump.
