Apple Loses Unreleased iPhone

NOT AGAIN

Second absent-minded employee to misplace prototype.

For all the bright people working at Apple, there are apparently a few flakes in the mix: a source told CNET that another Apple employee misplaced an unreleased iPhone in a San Francisco bar in late July, following in the footsteps of Robert Gray Powell, who left an iPhone 4 prototype at a German beer garden in California last year. After learning that another unreleased version had gone missing, Apple reportedly scrambled to recover the device, which was allegedly taken from the bar and may have been pawned on Craigslist for a mere $200. Last year's prototype was sold to Gizmodo for $5,000 cash. Apple has declined to comment about the errant phone and apparently has its bases covered: a spokesman for the San Francisco Police Department said the company didn't file a report about the missing gadget, despite what other sources claimed, and Craigslist also refused to answer questions about the incident.
