A federal judge ordered Apple to provide investigators access to encrypted data on the iPhone of Syed Farook, one of the shooters involved in the San Bernardino attack. Initially the company "declined to provide" the access voluntarily. Investigators need to get into the phone in order to find what they hope to be crucial data. Apple now has five days to respond to the court if it thinks that compliance with the order would be "unreasonably burdensome."
Correction 2/18/2016: The original headline suggested that Apple was going to comply and unlock the phone.
