Apple Sues Amazon

Amazon opened its app store for Android smartphones on midnight Tuesday—and Apple isn’t too happy about it. Apple filed suit against Amazon, saying the online retailer has improperly used its “App Store” trademark. Apple applied to register the “App Store” trademark, but Microsoft filed to block the move; the matter is currently before the courts. Apple said in a statement, “We've asked Amazon not to copy the APP STORE name because it will confuse and mislead customers.”
