An Israeli Arab citizen allegedly paraglided into Syria intentionally and is now facing a possible loss of citizenship amid speculation that he may have been trying to join a Syrian rebel group. Israel has a neutral stance in the Syrian conflict and forbids its citizens from traveling there. The Israeli military says that the man cannot be found despite extensive searches in the area where he landed near the Golan Heights. He was allegedly picked up by someone on the Syrian side of the border after landing.
