Arkansas Lieutenant Gov Resigning

Arkansas’s lieutenant governor, Mark Darr, is bowing to pressure from both Democrats and fellow Republicans and resigning because of ethics violations related to finance, effective February 1^st. Officials say that Darr did not keep accurate records of his spending and misspent more than $30,000 from his campaign funds and $3,500 with his state credit card. Darr notably did not apologize in his resignation statement, but said, “I have been honest, forthright and acted with integrity. I made mistakes, but not one with malicious intent.”
