Arkansas’s lieutenant governor, Mark Darr, is bowing to pressure from both Democrats and fellow Republicans and resigning because of ethics violations related to finance, effective February 1st. Officials say that Darr did not keep accurate records of his spending and misspent more than $30,000 from his campaign funds and $3,500 with his state credit card. Darr notably did not apologize in his resignation statement, but said, “I have been honest, forthright and acted with integrity. I made mistakes, but not one with malicious intent.”
