  • Leader of Israeli right-wing party presents Egypt diplomat with own Palestinian plan - The new leader of the Habayit Hayehudi party meets with the acting Egyptian ambassador and recounts his 'calming plan' for Israel's foreign policy. The diplomat rejected these plans. (Haaretz+)
  • Lador: Lieberman case was viable - Contrary to AG's preference to close criminal case against foreign minister, state prosecutor says conviction could have been secured. (Ynet)
  • Israel's High Court extends journalistic immunity to cover info, not just source - Ruling came in case of photographer Miriam Tzahi, who refused to hand over to the police photographs of a protest, saying this would harm immunity of sources who invited her to the scene. (Haaretz+)
  • "We won't find work at our age" - Kitan factory closes and fires last 40 employees. For years, the factory was the economic and employment anchor of the city. When Israel did not admit in the '60's to establishing a nuclear reactor in Dimona, it claimed it was a 'textile factory.' At its climax it employed more than 1600 people, but that number dropped in recent years. (Israel Hayom, p. 13 and Ynet)
  • Despite Israeli opposition: Germany to supply submarine to Egypt - 'Der Spiegel': The deal for 2 subs still not finalized but expected to be approved. at cost of 700 million Euros. Simultaneously, sale of weapons to Israel approved. (Yedioth, p. 20)
  • Leading ultra-Orthodox rabbis tell yeshiva students to dodge IDF draft - Call follows reports that ultra-Orthodox youth are being summoned for medical tests, including an examination of their testicles - which has outraged the community - and psychotechnical evaluations. (Haaretz+)
