The Pew Research Center for the People & the Press published the results of a recent survey that looks at how people view the GOP and the Democrats. Many of the results are what you would expect. It is not surprising that the image of the Republican Party is at a two-decade low, with only a 33% approval rating.

What is somewhat surprising is that Republicans were much more critical about the GOP than Democrats were about the Democratic Party. Roughly a third of those who identified themselves as Republican said that their party was out of touch with the American people. The one area that Democrats, Republican and independents agreed upon is that the Republican Party has strong principles. Can't argue there.
