In Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers, four hell-raising college girls—played by former Disney starlets Selena Gomez and Vanessa Hudgens; the director’s wife, Rachel Korine; and Pretty Little Liars’s Ashley Benson—hold up a diner to fund their spring-break debauchery. The shit hits the fan, however, when they catch the eye of Alien (James Franco), a rapper-drug-dealer-wannabe gangsta who recruits the bikini babes into his crew.

The wacky satire was a box-office success, grossing over $31 million worldwide against a $5 million budget, and The New York Times labeled it a Critics’ Pick, calling the film “a gonzo, outrageously funny party.” Franco, in particular, delivers one of the finest performances of the year to date as Alien—a cornrow and grill-sporting wanksta with a soft spot for Britney Spears.

In honor of the Blu-ray/DVD release of Spring Breakers, out July 9, watch an exclusive clip from the Blu-ray featuring Franco discussing one of the year’s most controversial films (and characters).
