Olivia Palermo, Shoe Designer: Already dubbed an unofficial ambassador for Aquazzura, style maven Olivia Palermo now has entered into a partnership with the Italian shoe label. Palermo, who is often photographed in the brand's designs, has created six different styles, including a pair inspired by a vintage necklace, thigh-high boots, and suede booties, all of which will be available this September. “Olivia basically has been our unofficial ambassador,” Edgardo Osario, the brand’s designer, said. “She’s always wearing the shoes. We’re friends and we were talking more than a year ago about a small capsule that would be Olivia’s eye and aesthetic but with the Aquazzura style.” [WWD]

Powerful Women Choose Powerful Drinks: Following reports that excessive drinking is corrolated with higher social status, a new study conducted by ReD in partnership with a leading alcohol and beverage brand found that powerful businesswomen choose strong and heavy drinks when in professional settings, consuming just as much as their male counterparts. “Professionals in our study described specific cocktail strategies to signify strength, confidence, and toughness to male colleagues," the study's authors explained. “Take one of our participants, Gina, a tech entrepreneur from Sao Paulo. She told us that her choice of drink, and even the quantity she consumed, was part of her 'hard-edged' business performance: 'I would make a point of drinking rum, straight up, in a big glass wherever I was at a business networking event,' she said.” [Quartz]
