Israel unilaterally declared a seven-hour “humanitarian” ceasefire on Monday, which Palestinians claim Israel broken with a strike on the Al-Shata Refugee Camp that reportedly injured 30 people. Israel also reportedly killed a militant leader, Daniel Mansour of the Islamic Jihad, hours before the ceasefire was set to take place. Israel stated that the self-imposed ceasefire did not include regions where troops were already stationed. On Monday, Israeli authorities reported that a 25-year-old pedestrian was killed in Jerusalem when he was fatally struck by a tractor in a suspected terrorist attack. Police says the motorist was purposefully driving erratically, and Public Security Minister Yitzhak Aharonovitch said the “terrorist was known to security forces from a separate incident.” He was shot by police and five others were injured. The announcement of the “humanitarian window” came after Israel was already showing signs of scaling back troops in many parts of Gaza.
