In the latest sign of Afghanistan's deteriorating security, three government buildings in Kabul were under siege by suicide bombers on Wednesday in three coordinated attacks that left 20 people dead and 57 more injured. In the worst violence in the region since July, five Taliban guerillas armed with explosives took over the Justice Ministry in the center of the capital and killed 10 people inside, reports the New York Times. Richard C. Holbrooke, President Obama's envoy to the region, was finishing his visit of Pakistan at the time under orders to review American policy there. President Obama is in talks to bolster troop levels in Afghanistan, where attacks have become more frequent.
