When examining the hysteria surrounding the photograph of Kim Kardashian’s behind, it’s obvious that there’s a dark underbelly leading us to question our cultural landscape.
Darryl Roberts is President of Harley Boy Entertainment and an established writer, producer, and director best known for his 2008 award-winning documentary America the Beautiful, which keenly focuses on America’s obsession with beauty. The third and final installment of his documentary series, America the Beautiful 3: The Sexualization of Our Youth, takes a look at the harrowing consequences of our over-sexualized culture, while also highlighting the positive strides made by those determined to bring it all to an end. Inspired by all he’s learned from the documentary series, Roberts founded an anti-bullying campaign called Are You An Ally? (www.areyouanally.org). The campaign began in 20 cities in 2013 and was expanded to be shown in 10,000 high schools in October 2014 for National Anti-Bullying Month.
