Dr. Ian S. Lustick is the Bess W. Heyman Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania. He is the author of Arabs in the Jewish State: Israel's Control of a National Minority; For the Land and the Lord: Jewish Fundamentalism in Israel; Unsettled States, Disputed Lands: Britain and Ireland, France and Algeria, Israel and the West Bank/Gaza; and Trapped in the War on Terror, and co-editor, with Ann Lesch, of Exile and Return: Predicaments of Palestinians and Jews. He is a founder and past president of the Association for Israel Studies and former president of the Politics and History Section of the American Political Science Association. He has received awards and grants from the National Science Foundation, the Carnegie Corporation, the Social Science Research Council, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the United States Institute of Peace.
