Katie Fahey, a film subject in the documentary Slay The Dragon, founded and led a grassroots, nonpartisan campaign that ended gerrymandering in Michigan by amending the state constitution in 2018 with 61% of the vote. Responding to extreme divisiveness in politics, Katie made a Facebook post asking if anyone would like to take on gerrymandering in her home state and–almost by accident–started a political movement that mobilized over 10,000 volunteers from all 83 counties. She is now Executive Director of The People, an organization that gathers and empowers everyday Americans to find common ground and take action to create a government that is responsive and accountable to all its people.
