At least four people are dead after deadly avalanches in Washington. Three deaths occurred in an out-of-bounds area near the Stevens Pass ski resort, the sheriff’s department said. At Alpental, the snowboarder was reportedly buried underneath a cliff shortly before noon. A friend was able to get out and called for help, but rescue workers were unable to find anyone else for an hour and a half. By the time they reached him, the snowboarder was unconscious and could not be revived. Eight people had been recorded missing earlier on Sunday, and the sheriff's office said that all the missing have now been accounted for.
