New details have emerged about the state of the three girls, ages 12, 13 and 17, who were rescued Tuesday night from their Tucson home, where authorities say they were held as prisoners for two years. All the girls were reportedly malnourished and extremely dirty, and said they hadn’t bathed in four to six months. They were fed only once a day and visits to the bathroom were sometimes denied, forcing the girls to use bags and jars in their closets. Along with being under video surveillance 24/7, the girls endured loud music continually blared into their rooms. Police said when the girls were rescued, they had no idea what city or state they were in. The girls’ stepfather and their mother have been charged with kidnapping, emotional abuse of a child, and sexual abuse.
