A British bank said on Thursday that it had frozen the estate of Jimmy Savile, the late British broadcaster being investigated for sexual abuse of as many as 300 underage girls. NatWest Bank, the executor and trustee of Savile's estate, said they had put his assets on hold given the claims raised. According to the Financial Times, Savile bequeathed his wealth to 26 beneficiaries' most of which went to a charitable trust set up in his name. The overall value of his estate was estimated to be £4.3 million, or $6.98 million. Savile has been accused of having sex and molesting the young women while conducting charity work at several hospitals, and some have alleged some of the abuse occurred at the BBC. Scotland Yard has opened a criminal investigation into the claims.
