Plan for hellish traffic on the Golden Gate Bridge this weekend. After an epic 30-hour bargaining session, BART negotiations with union leaders were tabled on Thursday, and workers plan to shut down trains on Friday morning. The chief negotiator for one of two labor groups said it would take a "miracle" to avert the shutdown. The BART management is offering a 12 percent pay raise for the workers, bumping pension contributions, and monthly health care payments, but the unions wanted a 15.9 percent pay increase. BART is also seeking to change a variety of perks workers want to keep. The strike will leave 200,000 daily commuters stranded for the second time in three months.
