Bernie Sanders has roundly defeated Hillary Clinton in a primary of American Democrats living abroad, garnering 69 percent of the vote versus the former secretary of State’s 31. The Democratic National Committee grants Democrats Abroad 13 delegates—of which Sanders will take nine, and Clinton four, based on the primary results. Votes were submitted between March 1-8 at in-person events or via mail, fax, or email attachment. The Republican Party does not allow expatriates to vote in its primary.
