
The classic story of romance on opposite sides of the tracks gets a canine spin in this Disney "tail." Tramp, a scrappy stray dog who forages for food at an Italian restaurant, wines and dines Lady, who lives an upper-crust existence with wealthy owners. Their famous date scene, over a spaghetti dinner, has become a classic—and often parodied—romantic sequence, but rumor has it that Walt Disney initially didn't include it.

In Rob Reiner's classic fantasy film, Robin Wright and Cary Elwes' epic lip-lock before a golden sunset was the perfect climax to a film fraught with medieval adventure and daring. "Since the invention of the kiss there have been five kisses that were rated the most passionate, the most pure," the narrator of Rob Reiner's classic adventure film says. "This one left them all behind."

In the history of first kisses, Anna Chlumsky may come out on top. She was just 11 years old when she locked lips with co-star Macaulay Culkin in My Girl, and the touching scene won her an MTV Movie Award. "Gee, my first kiss and I get an award," Chlumsky said at the podium. On set, though, the young movie stars weren't as thrilled. Asked to describe the big kiss by a reporter, Chlumsky responded, "Yuck."

Steven Spielberg's coming-of-age classic pays homage to a famous kissing scene when E.T. watches John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara lock lips in The Quiet Man. His human pal Elliott, somehow psychically connected, reenacts the sequence almost exactly with his friend at school while E.T. watches at home. At the film's finale, though, Spielberg crafts his own contribution to the kissing canon when Drew Barrymore's Gertie bids an adorable farewell to her extraterrestrial friend.
