Seven people were injured Friday night in an explosion at a crude-oil plant about 90 miles from Houston. Four of the victims suffered critical injuries in the blast at the Sunoco Logistics terminal in Nederland, which authorities believe was caused by a faulty crude-oil pipeline connection. "Three of the injured were transported to burn centers via helicopter, four by ambulance to area hospitals," Sunoco Logistics said in a statement released after the incident. The company promised to open an investigation into the cause of the explosion, and also to "support those injured and their families."
